What is the 1.5m Extension Rod used for?
The 1.5m Extension Rod mounts to the camera's quick-release system and extends your shooting reach significantly. It is used for over-the-shoulder third-person shots, elevated angles above crowds, holding the camera out over the water or a cliff edge, and low-angle ground-level shots. In conjunction with the DJI Mimo app's InvisiStick feature, the rod can also be removed from footage automatically for a floating camera effect.
How does the variable aperture help in different lighting conditions?
The Osmo Action 6 is the first action camera with a variable aperture from f/2.0 to f/4.0. At f/2.0, the wider opening lets in more light for cleaner, brighter footage in low-light environments like forests, tunnels, or night shoots. At f/4.0, a narrower opening reduces exposure in bright sunlight and increases depth of field for sharper wide-angle footage. No other action camera gives you this level of exposure control without filters.
Can I use it underwater without a case?
Yes. The Osmo Action 6 is IP68 waterproof to 20 metres without any housing — deeper than most competing action cameras. Ensure the battery compartment cover and USB-C port cover are fully sealed before water use. For deeper diving, a DJI Waterproof Case extends the rated depth to 60 metres.
Does OsmoAudio work without a receiver dongle?
